Executive Director

Stephanie has a Master’s of Science degree in Human Development and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. She is a Qualified Mental Health Professional as well as a Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional. She has worked in this career field for approximately 20+ years. She has experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities as well as mental health needs. Her professional experience has consisted of positions in case management, day treatment services, program management and being a regional director of a private agency. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with family, being active outdoors and traveling.

Regional Director

TracyAnn began working at SOS in 2013. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services in 1993 from Elon College in North Carolina. TracyAnn also worked as a Therapeutic Day Treatment Counselor in Floyd County schools for several years. TracyAnn has experience working in the mental health field as well as with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She worked in long term care as a social worker and in admissions for many years in North Carolina. TracyAnn stays busy with several health related boards in Floyd County and enjoys spending her free time hiking and camping with her family.

James

James

Director of Mental Health

James graduated from Radford University in 1994 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology. He then went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology also at Radford University in 1996 and became licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in 1999. James is an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and volunteers with Christiansburg Rescue with the rank of Captain.  James has worked in community based counseling, treatment foster care, private practice, Medication Assisted Substance Abuse Treatment Administration, as well as supervising other counselors. James uses a variety of approaches to assist his individuals/families in meeting their individual needs and goals. James also has experience working with individuals/families in crisis, a wide spectrum of mental health issues and substance abuse disorders.

Director of Information Technology

TC is a native of the surrounding area and has been in the IT field for over 25 years. Graduate of Old Dominion University with a BS in Information Systems and UNC Chapel Hill School of Government’s CGCIO program. He began working with SOS in November 2019 and brings a broad level of experience to SOS from his years of service in the technology field.  He has served in various technology focused capacities from support to management making him well suited for the Director role here at SOS.

RN Care Coordinator

Ashley received an Associates Degree in Nursing and is a Registered Nurse. Ashley has been a nurse for twelve years and has worked in Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Sports Medicine, Cardiology, and most recently, Emergency Medicine. As a Floyd native, she is excited to be working some in her community. When not at work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband and three wonderful boys.

Jennifer has been in the customer service field for 8 years and began working with Strengthening Our System, Inc. in July of 2015. She has recently enhanced her skills in Human Resources by attending classes to become proficient in both federal and state laws for the field. Jen’s expertise is in both recruitment and the benefits areas of the Human Resources Department. She enjoys spending time with her two daughters.

Accounts Receivable Manager

Cindy graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Business Administration Accounting degree. She has over 40 years of Accounting and Finance experience. Cindy joined the SOS team in January 2018 and her responsibilities have expanded to include payroll and accounts reconciliation.

Sunshine has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with an emphasis on Probation and Parole, and a minor in Sociology. She is a Qualified Mental Health Professional as well as a Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional. She has worked in this career field for almost 10 years. She has experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities as well as mental health needs. Her professional experience has consisted of positions in Special Education at Head Start, preschools, and Public Schools, Waiver Support Coordination/Case Management, and current position of Waiver Supervisor. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with family, cooking, attending live music events, and walking nature trails.

Tiffany has been working in the field of human services since 2006. After completing her undergraduate degree in Human Services at Virginia Tech, she went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Education. She began her career as a Therapeutic Day Treatment Counselor in the school system, but then decided that working with adults was her true passion. Tiffany worked as a Mental Health Skill Building clinician, connecting adult individuals with community-based resources, and later became Coordinator of Mental Health coordinating services for Roanoke and the New River Valley.

Brynn holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development from Virginia Tech. She is a Qualified Metal Health Professional for Children and Adults as well as a Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional. She has many years of experience working with children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities, mental health needs, and substance abuse disorders. Her professional experience has consisted of positions in early childhood development, case management in the child welfare system, directing a mental health and emotional supports agency, and her current position of Waiver Supervisor. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband and newborn, fishing, and crafting.

Paige has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with concentrations in English and Math, as well as extensive coursework in Special Education and Autism. She is a Qualified Mental Health Professional as well as a Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional. She has worked with children and adults with disabilities in this field for 10 years. Her professional experience has consisted of a position in Special Education at Blacksburg High School, Consumer-Directed Services Facilitation Team Lead, and current position of Waiver Supervisor. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her family, being outside, watching reality TV, and reading.

Karen has a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University.  She is a Qualified Mental Health Professional and has served in that field for over 10 years.  She is also a Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional and has worked with this population for over 8 years.  She has experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities as well as adults with mental health needs.  Her professional experience has consisted of Summer Camp Director for children with developmental disabilities, Program leader, Class Instructor and Driver for a Therapeutic Recreation Program and Supervisor for Waiver Supportive In Home Services.    When she is not working Karen loves to spend time with her family and friends, go shopping, travel and participate in programs through her church.

Community Guide Specialist/Waiver Supervisor

Megan has a Bachelor of Science Degree from James Madison University in Health Sciences with a Minor in Family Studies.  She is a Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional as well as a Qualified Mental Health Professional.  Megan has worked in the service field for 20 years, beginning as a volunteer at a group home and progressing to working as a therapeutic mentor and DSP at a day support program with individuals with developmental disabilities.  She has also worked in the mental health field as a Mental Health clinician for more than 6 years.  Megan has held the position of waiver supervisor with SOS for 10 years.  For fun, you can find Megan spending time with her family, behind her sewing machine, or on grand camping adventures.

Catherine joined the SOS, Inc. team in May 2019. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development from Virginia Tech. Catherine is a Qualified Mental Health Professional for Children and Adults and a Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional. She has held professional roles in the mental health field for more than 15 years, to include:  psychosocial rehabilitation, behavioral treatment services, therapeutic day treatment, direct support, and her current position supervising waiver services. Catherine enjoys farmers markets, all things outdoors, traveling near and far, learning, and raising food, animals, and children!
